The Barefoot Gallery Colombo is delighted to host the inaugural exhibit of the Beven Foundation: The Evolution of an Artist. This is an exhibit created to celebrate the legacy of artist George Beven, and his work spanning seven decades.
The Beven Foundation is an organisation that seeks to honour the artist’s life and work. The launch will include an essay by Dr Edwin Coomasaru about Beven’s place in the art history canon of Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom, as well as original dresses created by Arsath Furkhan and inspired by Beven’s fashion designs.
