Isuru Nirangana (b. 1993, Gampola) is an Expressionist painter whose work channels raw emotion into visual form using canvas, paper, or any available material. Rooted in personal experience and guided by spontaneity, his art is a vivid exploration of colour, movement, and depth. Each piece a direct reflection of the emotions felt in the moment.
Although he pursued Mathematics for his A Levels and later earned a degree from the Faculty of Science at the University of Peradeniya, Isuru’s creative path diverged sharply from conventional expectations. After briefly working a structured 8-to-5 job, he found himself drawn irreversibly to the freedom of artistic expression.
His debut solo exhibition was held at Trax Gallery, Ahangama, in 2024, followed by his first Colombo solo show, A Flower Speaks, at the Barefoot Gallery, marking his emergence as a distinctive voice in contemporary Sri Lankan art.
